It seems counter-intuitive for Theresa May to be promoting
more productivity in our economy while keeping a very unproductive Foreign
Secretary in power. It is clear from
Boris's latest gaffe in this position, one of many, that he is under no
pressure to work hard or even take it seriously. This is demonstrative of how Brexit has
poisoned our politics and frozen our foreign policy. Because of this single issue May is obsessed
with keeping key Brexiters in certain cabinet positions regardless of competence. And so it is the leader of a party that
apparently promotes meritocracy gives people jobs only on the basis of who they
are.
